Depends on you. CR has huge variety; 14 days covers most ecosystems comfortably without rushing.
Start San José or Liberia?
Either works. We reverse the route based on your flight arrival airport.
Internal flights?
Optional — skip long drives (e.g., Manuel Antonio to Tamarindo). Adds ~$200/person/leg.
Physical difficulty?
Moderate. Walking trails, some stairs. Not for wheelchair. Pace is flexible.
Photography opportunities?
Outstanding. Volcanoes, wildlife, sunsets, cultural scenes. Bring extra memory.
